Eleven years ago today, I sat in a hospital bed at the ripe age of 19 - holding my new baby boy and trembling with fear over the realization of the incredible responsibility I now held. Jackson William came into my life unexpectedly - but when I turned my life back over to God, He held my hand and led me through the dark as I held onto my precious babe, not knowing what awaited us around the corner but trusting in the Almighty to work all things together for our good. (Romans 8:28)
As I look back over the past 11 years, I am overcome with emotion at just how evident God's hand has been in mine and Jackson's lives. When I recommitted my life to Christ as a scared, single mother - He asked that I put my complete trust in Him, and I did. I can now see His faithfulness to us over the years, and His undeserved grace and goodness in my life.
Thank you Lord, for rescuing me from the pit of my own self destruction and for showering me with grace and kindness beyond comprehension. Thank you for my dear son Jackson and for what a powerful reminder he is to me of your faithfulness!
“Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.” Ephesians 3:17-19 NLT

I also remember the day Jackson was born! I took LOTS of pics while waiting for his arrival. You did a great job and Jackson was a darling baby! You were a good Mommy and still are! I too had the same experience of having a baby boy at the ripe old age of 19 and also experiencing the emotions and responsibility of caring for and raising a precious child. It also led me to Christ! God is good and only He knows what we need in this life to draw us to Him. I love you and your lovely family! Have a wonderful day of celebration!
Love,
Aunt Denise
